What steps will reproduce the problem?

1. Start openvpn connection procedure. From command line:
/system/bin/openvpn --config client.ovpn

Or from OpenVPN Settings, it doesn't matter.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
After it device freeze then reboot.

What version of the product are you using?
openvpn 2.1.1

Which Android phone are you using?
Del Streak 5

Which firmware version are you using?
Kernel 2.6.32.9-perf, GAUSB1A131800-EU

Please provide any additional information below.

After command:
/system/bin/strace /system/bin/openvpn --config client.ovpn

I have screen "strace" log, OpenVPN server log and openvpn client screen output
(all attached).

As you can see in strace log, after "ioctl(4, TUNSETIFF" all die.

I found this http://droidvpn.com/page/phone-reboots-when-connecting-droidvpn-7/
so this might be related to the ROM and not an issue about OpenVPN
