Add a check for git in install and tests #73

Hi,

Both the install and test required git to operate. As we are installing to a central NFS location, this is not the case for all out hosts. I would recommend one of the following:

Add a test for git existence:

command -v git &> /dev/null && echo true || echo false

Add git to the conda environment
