Hi. Thank you for the suggestion. We do need to rewrite completely this part, as it is messy. The roadmap is, at the moment:
a more complete update in January, including a revised lighting calculation (and the possibility of turning it on/off, as you have done) For this reason, I will not include your pull, now. Sorry. However, since you think a lighting switch useful, I want to ask: in your opinion, it would be better to have: A) a global "light on/off" switch, affecting ALL geometries OR B) the possibility of individually turn lighting on/off for each instance? (A) is simpler to implement and to use, while (B) is more flexible (and a global light on/off can achieved by setting all instances).

Hi Marco, option A is fine for our needs. It would be also very helpful to have a navigation system similar to the one in meshlab.
This is the desired functionality in case of viewing 3D models reconstructed using photogrammetry for which the light is already backed into the texture.
