texture transfer between 2 meshes produces black texture (Transfer: vertex Attributes to Texture)

• Windows
• Meshlab 2022.2

so, what I do:

• i load as source one mesh (which has uv coordinates + texture)
• i load another mesh which is a target; it does not have a texture associated with
• I invoke a filter (Transfer: vertex attributes to texture...)
• original texture was 4096x4096
• then, run the filter. finally got black texture:

any ideas why it happens?

@alemuntoni hi, please check those two meshes:

mesh_high_poly.zip mesh_low_poly.zip

when I use 'Transfer: vertex attributes to texture' to transfer texture from mesh_high_poly to mesh_low_poly, the resulting texture of mesh_low_poly appears to be black.

Hi Yu Zihao, currently I do not work on the project where we use meshlab anymore - that's why I have not verified this issue again. However, 6months ago i experienced this sort of problem

Well, as far as I remember, with my colleague we tried many filters in meshlab, but w/o success. We used one of MPEG mesh sequences - "Thomas" or "Mitch". I guess I can try to find this experiment, if needed.

I tried an older version(meshlab 2020.03), which can perform texture transfer successfully. It seems there is a bug in newer version of meshlab(2022.02).
