New tabs not being saved #349

Hi there,

I am using version 1.4.7 on the latest version of Chrome (Version 87.0.4280.141 (Official Build) (64-bit)) Running on windows 10 with all latest patches and updates.

I have noticed that new tabs are not being saved by better-onetab. I save tabs, they appear in the tab list, then when I restart my browser (or refresh the better-onetab tab) they are gone again. From the last tabs in the list, this seems to have been happening since 19th Oct 2020 :(

I can reproduce this problem

Is anyone else having this problem?

Update: After further testing, it seems that I cannot delete old tab lists either. After a restart the old lists are still there. It looks like the database / file that stores the information is not being written for some reason. There are no error messages that I can see, I will update if I find any.

Me too. I have been suffer from this since 2019, all the tabs I save afterwards are not saved. This extension is really the best one for me, but now I can't use it with these bugs......

After further investigation, it seems like it is a data capacity issue. I exported my tabs, then removed the extension. Upon restarting my browser, then reinstalling the extension, I could save tabs again. When importing my old tabs and restarting, the same behavior was seen. I have 79 pages of tabs (using default page size) I do notice that there are some errors in the messages log when starting and using this extension, and that there seems to be an update to the storage subsystem for chrome. this may be having an impact also, but I am not an extension developer so have not managed to dig much further into the code.

This may help someone else.

I am now away to edit my json export to trim down the number of tabs I have....

Me too, but I don't think it's the data capacity issue. I am using version 1.4.7.

I've create 3 tabs, with 13 pages in total. image

But there're only two entries shown in the save to menu. image

And the newest created tab was gone after I refresh the plugin page. Which means that I could create at most two list of tags.
