Newcomer guide: Assigning issue description is ambiguous #454

Open co-robo opened 7 years ago

co-robo commented 7 years ago

The description for assigning an issue to yourself in the newcomers guide is a bit ambiguous about where to leave a comment. Newcomers leave a comment on the issue on github rather than gitter for the assignment of the issue

I messed up with creating this issue by adding the description in the title. Can someone please fix this or close this

vaibhavgarg11 commented 7 years ago

@meetmangukiya please add the label difficulty/newcomer for this issue

jayvdb commented 7 years ago

@meetmangukiya , dont we want newcomers to use the bot?

meetmangukiya commented 7 years ago

Yes, we want them to.

SanketDG commented 7 years ago

Now pick an issue which isn’t assigned and which you would like to fix. Leave a comment that you would like to be assigned to the issue. This way we don’t have multiple people working on the same issue at the same time. Now you can start working on it!

I am not sure if this should be there in the first place, since we want to automate much as possible.

vaibhavgarg11 commented 7 years ago

@SanketDG that was what I was talking about, from what I've obsereved people leave comments on the issues on github in order to be assinged that issue instead of using corobo on gitter. The notes below these articles do make it clear how to assign a issue to yourself but this paragraph creates a ambiguity

HarshKhatore commented 7 years ago

This is a newcomers issue, please assign a label to it, so that it can be worked upon.

@meetmangukiya So, for this issue, I just need to make changes in https://api.coala.io/en/latest/Developers/Newcomers_Guide.html ?

jayvdb commented 6 years ago

Marking as invalid, only because this issue is in the wrong repository -- that doesnt matter ; it can be fixed with a link to here.

Is this solved yet?
