In using the prototype, I've found that I have questions for John about individual examples of the SRKW call types. In asking him the question, it would be nice to be able to provide a URL that unambiguously points to the audio file and/or spectrogram in question. Instead, I have to dig into the source code or make screenshots and recordings to get clarification that would eventually improve the catalog for a future version...

It sure would be nice to have a unique URL for each signal sample!

I just identified some short SRKW calls from J pod in this clip as S44s, but they are most similar to one example in the new catalog (the last of 7 samples of the S44 call). I'd like to be able to email John Ford or other bioacousticians to confirm the match by including a link not just to the new catalog, but to the specific example of the S44 call that I want do discuss. Similarly, when I write a blog post presenting my analysis of the full J pod recording, it would also be efficient to link to the version of the S44 I think matches best, rather than linking to the catalog URL and then verbally explaining how to get to the best match, or providing a screenshot highlighting the specific sample...
