The requirement is to gather the information provided by the user as LCML (http://www.iso.org/iso/home/store/catalogue_tc/catalogue_detail.htm?csnumber=44342)

Question as to whether this is on the phone, after QA or required as part of publishing. WP2 needs to investigate this.

@mason, from my point of view LCML can be one of the encodings we use to exchange our observations in with other portals, LCML could be an output format of the post-quality QA/conflation/geonetwork/52 North. We will probably not use LCML in our framework components, although it can facilitate improved interoperability between the components. Similar comment can apply to EML/GBIF, SensorML, a to-be-developend O&M profile for citizen science, INSPIRE
