It's down for me also. I haven't found a fix.
One workaround is to use wget as described here: https://gist.github.com/mkocabas/a6177fc00315403d31572e17700d7fd9
Yes thanks, that's what I did eventually. Download is faster with gsutil though, so it would be nice to know if this could be fixed.
I am having the same problem...
(base) user@user:/ssd/dataset/coco$ gsutil -m rsync gs://images.cocodataset.org/val2017 val2017
WARNING: gsutil rsync uses hashes when modification time is not available at both the source and destination. Your crcmod installation isn't using the module's C extension, so checksumming will run very slowly. If this is your first rsync since updating gsutil, this rsync can take significantly longer than usual. For help installing the extension, please see "gsutil help crcmod".
ServiceException: 401 Anonymous caller does not have storage.objects.list access to images.cocodataset.org.
Yep
I tried loging in to the gsutil tools but that did not work either
gcloud auth login
Running the comand again AccessDeniedException: 403 myemail@gmail.com does not have storage.objects.list access to the Google Cloud Storage bucket.

BucketNotFoundException: 404 gs://images.cocodataset.org bucket does not exist.
Did anyone manage to download the data with gsutil?
Same issue
Same issue as @jbreitbart
Same, did the owners just remove the bucket?
Same issue here running
gsutil -m rsync gs://images.cocodataset.org/val2017 val2017
I get
BucketNotFoundException: 404 gs://images.cocodataset.org bucket does not exist.
Same issue, the bucket might have been removed
Same issue when running:
gsutil -m rsync gs://images.cocodataset.org/train2017 train2017
Output:
BucketNotFoundException: 404 gs://images.cocodataset.org bucket does not exist.
I think the bucket is not available anymore or maybe it is just down.

Hi there, when trying to download the coco dataset with gsutil following this page, I am having the following error:
If I log in to gcloud, I am having the following error:
Probably related to issue #216.
Does anyone know how to fix that?
