I think the the version string checking algorithm is the reason, it cannot handle the string: "1.4 (2.1.2 NVIDIA 415.27)"
We don't test in docker. I run Debian 9.7 on my laptop and I am running just fine. I'll see if I can find time to test this in the next day.
