Here is the full submission form: https://forms.monday.com/forms/f06bcb103f79884b002e920e47a73486

We need: - Team name: Maybe something like Chicago Dog Rescue Trends ? - Challenge statement (1-5 sentences) - What challenge is your project is working to solve, and how does your submission contribute to solving it? We heard from Chicago animal rescue volunteers that if they knew why dogs weren't leaving the Chicago municipal shelter quickly then they could share that information with the press/media to encourage volunteering and adopting. To answer this question, and ultimately work toward getting more animals out of shelters into forever homes, we pulled data from the Petfinder API for dogs within 100 miles of Chicago. We then created a first iteration of a publicly-available, interactive data dashboard that can be used to analyze how different dog characteristics may correlate with average length of stay in a shelter prior to adoption.

- Social cause: Animals - Tech Stack: Data Analytics / Visualization OR Data Science (I would lean toward the former?) - Brand New Project: Yes - Link to Recorded Demo/Presentation: TBD - should include: ● Main Cover/Intro Slide - should include 1) Project Name 2) Team Name 3) Women Who Code Hackathon for Social Good 2022 and 4) Screenshot of project or other image (optional) ● Team Profile (all team members name, photo/avatar, and team role/description) ● Written Challenge Statement and Solution ● Presentation / Demonstration (video or screenshots) showing how the project works (3-5 minutes) ● Link to Code Set ● What did you learn from the experience? challenge statement and proposed solution: 1) what is incomplete? why? 2) what are next steps? 3) what did you learn? - Link to Code: TBD - Link to Demo Site: https://codeforchicago-rescuechi.herokuapp.com/Petfinder - Team Lead Full Name: Kayla (I'm assuming) - Team Lead Email Address: - Team Lead Email Address used on wwcode.slack.com: - # Team Members: - Names and Email Addresses of Team Members: Cara Karter, caramkarter@gmail.com

Possible next steps: 1) Look at other fields not included in current analysis: a) look at relationship by organization ID - are some rescue organizations moving dogs faster? b) look at variables related to the actual listing content - number of photos included on listing; length of description provided; etc. - to share possible best practices for listing these dogs on Petfinder 2) Expand dataset to other major metro areas in the US to look at differences
