"Autopause when switching tabs" option causes video to pause when switching browser instances #1103

Bug Report:

⚬ BUG: A Recent Update changed the behavior of the "Autopause when switching tabs" option, now enabling this option removes the ability to use a browser instance to Watch/Listen to a Video in the background, while using the internet normally in a separate browser instance

⚬ EXPECTED (/preferred) behavior: The Video should Autopause when switching Tabs within the same browser instance The Video should NOT Autopause when switching to a completely different browser instance (or when switching between tabs in an unrelated browser instance)

⚬ Browser: Chrome Version 96.0.4664.45 ⚬ ImprovedTube Version: 3.766

From my testing, the primary function seems to be working as intended with firefox, however, the bug reappears when switching between tabs on the second browser instance (the video on the other browser instance will begin to pause)

hi @Metacor :D you mean browser window, not different instance // different browser user

sad the feature changed against you, hopefully we offer a good way for you currently or soon again // and going back to manifest2, since manifest3 isnt enforced yet after all
