Change how custom theme affects the scroll bar #1883

ToxicIcecream commented 11 months ago

PROBLEM: When applying custom theme, the scroll bar color depends on the text color, which makes a stark contrast towards your primary color. That leads to: Black and white scrollbar when you want black text with light background lightblack Blinding thing on the right if you want a colorful darkmode darklight Or this weird thing weirdcolor Either way it is distracting.

SOLUTION:

The best option would be for the scrollbar to ignore all the color settings and simply be chosen as default light-/darkmode style one. Though it is already in darkmode for all other themes except custom.

ALTERNATIVES:

Alternative Is that the sidebar follows the primary - text color schemes with the background being darker and the slider with text color being semi-transparent, something like this: colormethis

RELEVANCE / SCOPE:

People on Firefox who watch videos in theater mode with custom theme will appreciate this.

"SIDE EFFECTS":

Not being able to color the scrollbar, or not if you go with alternative solution. SHORT Table | (Summary) ------------ | ------------- *Problem* | Custom theme scrollbar *Solution* | Scrollbar colors as in light-/darkmode *Alternatives*| Scrollbar colors as in custom theme *Scope* | Firefox users with custom theme *Side effects*| Losing scrollbar coloring

hi! @ToxicIcecream thanks for caring!

got the exact same request, especially on OLEDs having the option to set the background to pitch black while having the text being pure white makes a big difference - similar to twitters "Lights out" theme

sadly the "Black" theme here changes the text to gray instead of keeping it white otherwise that would ve been fine too

so having the option for that in the custom theme here would be really appreciated!
