hi! @Grace22222222 btw, did you try our auto full-screen?
to optimize cinema mode:
(should the cinema mode active YouTube's theater mode too optionally?)
I did try the auto full screen, but either I have an error where it doesn't work as nothing changes no matter what, or I am not understanding how it works

to optimize cinema mode:
- the page (like description and previous/following lines of transcript) can be
- be fully printed and or spotlighted on mouse-over
- less faint (useless when not readable at all?)
- Alternatively the page content around can also be hidden/100%transparent.
- (auto-)Cinema Mode: only make the content transparent / faint while the video is playing & not paused. (Isnt a manual button is too much work?)
(should the cinema mode active YouTube's theater mode too optionally?)
Alternative:
- embedded player? (try our popup player) (Some people want to always use embedded to skip loading YouTube pages at all #1211 https://github.com/code-charity/youtube/issues/1211)

@ImprovedTube Yes something like this, to focus on the video
Hi @ImprovedTube, i would like to work on this.
@SanderDebets Feel free to contribute! <3
Is it possible to move it with other view options? (next to full screen button) . It seems out of place next to the volume slider and next video icon. Can you also add a keyboard shortcut for cinema mode?
This is now implemented.
⚬ PROBLEM:
I get frustrated when I click fit to window, and the background of the video doesn't darken like I am used to due to an extension I used to use. I would love it if this was added.
⚬ SOLUTION:
I have moved from Google Chrome to Firefox, and on Chrome I had a youtube addon that made a thing they called Cinema Mode. Basically it worked like this: You'd click the button of cinema mode, and the entire screen would darken, except for the video itself. You couldn't interact with anything but the video itself. You could exit this by clicking on the darkened part of the screen or by tapping 'esc'. It made it so it would focus all of your attention on a video, without anything else distracting you, like comments, the description, recommended videos, etc.
What the screen looks like normally:
When Cinema Mode is active:
Example of setting with Cinema Mode:
What it would look like side by side in a new window:
⚬ ALTERNATIVES:
The fit to window option is the best option, but it doesn't darken as stated, so it's difficult for me to use.
⚬ RELEVANCE / SCOPE:
I think this would be good for people like me, who love to watch videos while working. One window would have the video, and the other would have the work. People wouldn't get distracted by things on the video window, like a colorful background if they have that implemented, and it would help people focus on the video just by color association.
⚬ "SIDE EFFECTS":
I believe that the only conflict there would be would be the fact that with it active, people wouldn't be able to see any themes they chose for the website. However, I believe that the Fit to Window button would be perfect for those people. ⚬ _CONTEXT_://
While I was on Google Chrome, I used Enhancer for YouTube, so if you need a reference, look there.
Thank you!
