hi @zuldero! you can enter a volume with the keyboard with our sliders. Once clicking on sliders, we can frame this field in a 1pixel dark blue line and auto focus on it/adding a blinking cursor to make it more efficient & obvious. Or what about out focus only to avoid visually wasting unnecessary attention from the most users who aren't interested in that?
our volume slider is, bad as the overdrive broke somehow/needs an update and it doesn't deserve proportional 75% of the space (the values 101-400 needs just consume half the space or so with a gradient to red or so, indicating too much is silly usually (depending laptop speakers or so)
we might also offer overdrive to the volume slider on youtube sooner or later: #1445
Greetings! @zuldero
⚬ PROBLEM:
The volume control only allows adjustments in 5% steps through shortcuts, and the short length of the volume slider makes precise adjustments challenging, especially with a mouse.
⚬ SOLUTION:
I propose implementing two features:
⚬ ALTERNATIVES:
An alternative solution could be providing only the option to increase the length of the volume slider.
⚬ RELEVANCE / SCOPE:
Considering the volume slider has empty space, extending its length should be acceptable to most users. However, implementing 1% steps by default might upset some users. Therefore, a toggle option for 1% steps could be a suitable solution to cater to individual preferences.
⚬ "SIDE EFFECTS":
While extending the volume slider doesn't conflict with other features, a small percentage of users may find the change bothersome, especially if it affects their accustomed layout or preference for a more compact menu. Additionally, considering the numerous feature requests related to volume options, introducing a dedicated submenu may enhance organization.
