Playback Speed🐞 #2508

Concise Description

the permanent speed setting has not been working properly for about a week, I have it set for 1.5 but it keeps changing back to normal speed.

'Steps to reproduce' - Which of our features is required for the bug to happen?

triggers every video when changing from one video to the next or opening a video in anew tab

    If you're asking why you see a notice that tasks are incomplete, it's because the form contains unfilled Markdown checkboxes, like:

    1.  [ ] Task

    ...rather than filled checkboxes, like:

    1.  [x] Task

    Within the issue, these are:

    Does the bug still happen when you log out of YouTube?

    * [ ]  Yes

* [ ]  No

    Tested as the only active extension? (incognito mode or another browser users):

    * [ ]  Yes

* [x]  No

    Removing those checkboxes shall remove the task completion indication.

  2. GitHub is ... incorrectly? recommend that you file github/..../issues/new.

    If you're asking whether this is a bug with GitHub, it's not. It's expected behaviour.

Indeed, @ImprovedTube. Is the existence of the "1 of 4 tasks" label problematic? If so, the checkboxes can be removed. Might you explain the importance of this?

@ImprovedTube, that's kind of you, but only in as much as I can assist someone. I've seen this kind of issue a multitude of times, anyway.

It was working for a short period of time again and also when not signed in though yesterday it stopped working again

Thanks! @evonru238 For how long have you been using this feature? We didn't change and this doesn't depend on Youtube's layout changes.

If you have music excluded, that might be a reason, since some invidious' API instances might not be reliable. Only kept the top few instances since about 6 week https://github.com/code-charity/youtube/commit/26eb6078f2cd0193ececacc40be45cb69138c2ac.

Can confirm also it's broken for me. I've been using this feature since install of addon (about month). I think it's correlated with latest firefox 129 release (06.08.2024). Also "force disable autoplay" is broken at same time. Arch Linux, Firefox 129.0.0.1
