I absolutely agree this would be extremely useful come up this scenario is played out with me all the time Though my reason most often for Using the search filters on youtube was to set my search parameters video Length at the more than four minutes Option they have to hopefully weed out all these idiotic waste of time shorts that are so pervasive now since everyone thinks they can make money off of them.

Ya, when I'm looking for a software review or something like that, YouTube puts videos that are ten years old as the first results. The videos four months old are like three pages deep in the search results. It doesn't make any sense. You think maybe software gets updated over time? Crazy concept, I know.
We should have a custom dashboard where we can choose our favorite search filters and they would be a row of icons below the search box. You type in your search then click the icons to enable them one time and then click search. Done. And in the settings choose some that are persistent. You would have to click them to disable them, as they would be enabled by default, as these particular ones we use more often than we don't. Or Ctrl + click the search icon to search with our favorite filters applied.
This 'Improve YouTube' extension has several options for hiding YouTube Shorts. Sounds like you would like them.
⚬ PROBLEM: Many videos in the search results are several years old. When searching for information it's ideal to use the "this year" search filter. I use it so much that it's a hassle to have to enable it for almost every search.
⚬ SOLUTION:
Add a feature that the user can choose filters that the extension would enable on every search. Better yet, a little icon beside the search magnifying glass icon, that would enable that custom filter when searching. Currently we have to type in our search, then click search, then click "filters > (desired filter) then search again. That is a stupid waste of time. It should have the filters available on the first search, and ready with one click, instead of menu diving and searching twice. This is the same problem with Google search, but this extension is for YouTube only.
⚬ RELEVANCE / SCOPE: YouTube searches
⚬ "SIDE EFFECTS":
Differentiate between a standard search and a filtered search. Sometimes the user wants one or the other. Not to override the standard search, but have a one-click to search + filter solution.
