Changed IDs in BPMN1.1 stencilset render existing process models unusable (introduced in revision 716) #181

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 8 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 8 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Model a BPMN 1.1 process using using subprocesses with revision 715
2. Update system to revision 716
3. Load the model from the repository

What is the expected output?
Model should look exactly the same

What do you see instead?
The subprocesses are completely invisible leaving the unconnected edges
pointing in arbitrary directions. (see attached screenshot)

How can we do data migration of our existing process models? Can you
again provide an SQL script? Last time when the database structure
changed that worked quite well.

the problem is that the stencil set is still in development. we are sorry, but
we
will not reset the changes.

Improving a stencilset is totally fine with us. I guess, these kind of changes
are
likely to happen again in future and maybe also to other stencilsets. Thus, it
might be worthwhile to have a method for migrating existing models.

I already sent a database dump to Alex. From what I've seen so far some SQL
queries
like UPDATE content SET erdf = REPLACE(erdf, 'oldId', 'newId'); should do the
job.
But, you probably know much better which changes you made to the stencil set.
