input focus problems #194

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 8 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 8 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Select a graphical object in the editor
2. Edit a property
3. Move cursor in property value using the cursor keys.

What is the expected output?
Cursor and only cursor should move.

What do you see instead?
Using the cursor keys moves the selected object, too.

Please provide any additional information below.
Of course, it may be that this is a plain firefox bug and not solvable for
the oryx developers. There are several problems regarding input focus that
show up here, using firefox 2.0.0.16. E.g., if the URL box had focus last
time, moving selected objects with the cursor keys results in both the
object moving and the URL history popping up.

As an addition: the focus problem is particularly annoying if you use the Del
key to
delete some text in the properties window and the corresponding object gets
deleted.

FIXED in Firefox: After an automatic Update to Firefox 3.0.1 this problem has
disappeared (along with several other seemingly focus-related problems, e.g.
changes
in the property editor sometimes being saved on leaving with Tab, sometimes
not).

the problem is too hard to solve for firefox 2 and because firefox 2 customers
now
get automatic updates to firefox 3, the efforts is bigger than the benefit.
