There are a lot of generic "display data on a map" projects out there. The Nashville data portal allows you to overlay multiple geographic datasets on a map and toggle layers, a la this map.

Code for Boston also has a generic mapping app, FindA with some additional functionality we could fork and re-use.

Reworking of the app has been started on the add-react branch. Currently the side bar is being rendered with React but the #map div is still in markup.
