fix part / index information when using gimpact #331

Part / index were not supplied, now they are.  Additionally I made it work
when the gimpact is in a compound.  I know this is not supported, not
advised, etc.  However the change is limited to the gimpact code so I think
you should apply it anyway.

We need to do some more testing if this doesn't break anything, and make sure 
we can 
remove the word 'hack' from the patch before applying it.
