Error notification

It would be a nice enhancement to have some sort of notification of why a
source control command fails when they do.

Either a simple message dialog or perhaps add an output panel to the Shelf
for it. I have recently added some extra api functions to the shelf that
would make doing this fairly easy without needing to implement a shelf plugin.

I wanted to have all of the source control command output go to a console of 
some sort (like in the shelf).  I just 
couldn't figure out how to make the connection from one plugin to another.  It 
might be a good idea to add error 
reporting to the source control classes as well though.

I have been thinking about this some more and I believe that this kind of 
functionality is usefull in allot of 
areas so I am going to make a new default component that can deal with this. It 
will be part of the rewrite of 
Editra's log system I am planning to do real soon so it will more or less be 
able to automatically provide this 
functionality to the projects plugin.

It will probably provide a simple output buffer with some optional text 
highlighting and the ability to filter the 
output based on the origin of the message and the type of message.

Does this sound like a good solution for this issue?

Editra 02.50 introduced the basic logviewer and the current svn now has some 
filtering options for the log 
viewer.
