Oh, and if you go to the console, (step 4, forgot to comment on that >.< )
you'll
find an error:
Error vertex file for "model/name/here.mdl" not found

I'm having this problem too.
Everything about the object is there (Weight, Collision, Shadows, Lifesupport
systems), but the objects themselves are invisible.
My graphics card is an NVIDIA GeForce4 MX 440.

Possible solution.
From main Gmod menu, Open the console. Type in the console:
mat_dxlevel 90
Gmod should hang for a few seconds. Load up a map and try spawning.

ya, dx7 is old and clunky, most addons work fine on 7, even 8, but 9 makes them
all
display correctly at least (not counting times when youre gfx card runs out of
memory and u get "r_3dnow error EOUTOFMEMORY" in red in youre console)

I find that a few SB servers give me a DX8 Vertex Buffer Error, so I run it in
DX7
mode. Chnaging form DX7 to DX9 will just crash me again. Any other solutions?
The
Model pack worked before o.O

OK. I had this same exact problem. I typed mat_dxlevel 90 in the console. After
a few minutes of being locked up, Garry's Mod began responding again. The
previously invisible models began showing up. However, I was getting very low
FPS when I got close to any object. I then typed mat_dxlevel 80 in the console.
The models still showed up and still do show up perfectly, but I no longer
experience an FPS drop when I'm close to an object. I hope this helps those who
have this problem.

I am having this problem, however whenever I type in mat_dxlevel 80/90 I either
get
an error that some lighting effects are doing something weird or it works.
However,
it has never fixed the problem.
Is there any other way to fix this? (My computer is crap, it's the only one in
the
house that can run Steam though.)

We added specular and bump packages to the textures in the latest release, which
require Pixel Shaders which usually require a card which can render DX9-era
graphics.
There is a fix created by a member of the community which fixes this problem.
