Segmentation fault while opening latex file with texmaker 4.4 amd on ubuntu 14.04 #1429

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Open a latex file previously worked on in texmaker 4.3

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
pim@rollercoaster:~/Downloads$ texmaker
"UTF-8 Unicode" 
Segmentation fault (core dumped)

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
texmaker_ubuntu_14.04_4.4_amd64.deb

pim@rollercoaster:~/Downloads$ lsb_release -a

Description:    Ubuntu 14.04.1 LTS
