This has been asked before, but personally I don't find it worth the trouble,
because
the aero preview should have only buttons that are frequently accessed, and I
can't
see any reasons why would you shuffle or repeat that frequently :(
I'm not saying NO yet, but I'm inclined not to add this feature.

I understand your doubts... I usually don't use that feature that often either.
But right now I have a lot of albums in my playlist and shuffle mode turned on
to
listen to everything in a mix. Sometimes a song from an album comes up that I
didn't
listen to for a long time and then I just want to turn off shuffling to get the
other
songs of this album... and when it's over I want to turn shuffling on again :)
So this is my personal scenario where I would like to have such a control
button...
I can't see the difficulty to implement this feature... but I am not in this
topic.

"I can't see the difficulty to implement this feature..."
I can see entirely where atti is coming from as shuffle + random are fringe
options
and would be better suited as a hotkey action than a button (seeing as it can
involve
more effort to show the taskbar buttons than a preview).
It does however seem to be that some people do want different buttons from those
offered and also with a means to alter the positions of them. Maybe it's time
to look
at the button handling code and make it more flexible or maybe not. I'm not sure
personally though it may make more sense once the preferences have been
converted
over to a 5.x style layout.
Either way, it's something to think about as i know there's an open request for
a
jump to file button as well as this one.

Well yes, the complexity of implementing more buttons that have two states,
like the
play/pause, shuffle on/off is increased because of the poor design of the
buttons
code... I admit that! BUT I still can't see the usability of these.
The jump to file button should be much easier though :)
About the 5.x style preferences, I would try to do it, but I don't really have
so
much Winamp programming experience, I'm not sure how to do it... actually I'm
not
even sure what does it involve. Darren if you have some time, you could explain
these
in a bit more detail, and I'll do it.
