Update coding style and PHPUnit #124

This PR intends to allow using newer versions of PHPUnit. The configuration file for Tavis-ci was rewritten to be easier to read. The coding style was updated.

Thank you. I think it is better to separate this PR in two: one to update PHPunit and one to update the coding style.

@maxjacobson i'm including you to get your thoughts on the coding style changes.
