I think it should be good if we spend 30 mins to practice teaching each CodeClub meetup

I was about to raise this idea too. We can even do this right from today (but I'm not sure if that's appropriate as we have already had quite a few things to discuss).

I think it's a good idea to have teaching practice as well My reservation is, it would be very different from teaching the kids, since we are adults and will therefore, react differently towards code, scratch, and behavior management. In the course about teaching I'm taking in coursera, we have to choose adult teaching or kids teaching right from the begining since each have different textbook and content. Can I get the link @ntt2389 to the course. It's a good point from a behavioural standpoint, but I think that the code parts are what we concentrate on with this section, and any problems in code, as well as perhaps bringing up any issues in the classroom we may have encountered.

In my opinion, it may be more beneficial if we taught ourselves code at home, perhaps adopting a "Book club" model, looking at one lesson a week, then come in and discuss this as a standing agenda item "Discuss this weeks lesson and any matters arising in the classroom"

Yes @andytgeezer, code newbies like me would certain benefit from that module, like enhancing our understanding about code, and the lesson in particular. And I do have a bunch of questions whenever I dive in lesson plans :+1:

To do this, we just need to announce the agenda in advance right?

Oh, I forgot the link: https://www.coursera.org/course/shaping1landscape

On the agenda this would be a "standing item" i.e. it repeats every week. You pretty much just start off with "Any questions on the lesson this week?"
