Explanation of the issue

It is not possible to accurately track the current cuts being made to the UK aid budget because:

No all FCDO activities contain budgets. Up until July 2019 all DFID activities contaied a commitment which was the original sum of all budgets. In August 2019 a substantial number of commitments were removed. It has not been possible to ascertain the logic that is employed now for which activities have commitments, and which don't.
All FCDO activities have budgets but only the most recent version is published so it is not possible to compare this with the original budget. The FCDO is continuing to make major changes to activity budgets - to historical budget as well as current/future ones. The only way to track these changes is to archive a monthly copy of budget data.
FCDO is deleting some activities altogether - including their transaction histories. For example it is no longer possible to use IATI to analyse UK involvement in Myanmar as a number of activities have been deleted.
