Flash message sounds good, though including the "bro" might cause more difficulties than good.
Multiple documents are supported/required, right? If so, a simple file list showing what's been uploaded so far (with an X next to each for deleting them) is a popular solution to this problem.

Xiao of the SF Food Bank had a few moments of 'wait, did that document actually get uploaded?' while submitting applications during LGBTQ Connect. The uncertainty caused her to hit the back button to try to figure out what was going on. Right now we have 3 UI states during upload:
1 - Empty
2 - Chosen
3 - Next or upload
4 - Done!
Xiao mostly was worried moving between #2 and #3 so we should consider how to reassure users that their docs didn't disappear. Maybe a flash-success message along the lines of 'Nice upload, bro! Feel free to add more or click finish if you're all done.'?
