We may need to use translation services to do case follow up. @gabbyjones will do research on:

Initial Research:

Pacific Interpreters (aka Language Line Solutions)

  1. Subscribed Interpretation (SI) (contract):
    • $275 initial setup
    • $100 monthly minimum
    • Confidential/HIPAA compliant interpreters
  2. Personal Interpreter (PI) program (pay-as-you-go):
    • No contract required
    • $3.95/minute
    • no call time minimum

Optimal Phone Interpreters

Over 200 languages available, interpreters available 24/7

  1. One year agreement
    • $1.59 per minute, payable via monthly invoice
    • $50 minimum usage clause each month (30 mins / month)
    • at least $600 / year
  2. No contract
    • $2.99 per minute with a 10 minute minimum per call
    • $30 / call

Next Steps:

Pacific Interpreters is the most cost effective option for our usage. We should test out both options for quality. I've personally used Pacific Interpreters before and had a great experience. We should try OPI as well though to compare.

Initial testing recommendation: 20 calls x 5 min x $3.95/min. Total test cost = $400. Will use for Mandarin, Cantonese, Russian, or others as needed (probably not Spanish).
