I'm not entirely sure what this means. What's still open?
When the mouse is moving toward the arrows in the detail panel, if you accidentally overshoot the button, the arrows go away. This means that the user has to move the mouse back into the detail panel to get the arrows again. If there was some invisible space around the arrows that they them open, then people wouldn't have this problem.
Issue updated to articulate the issue / proposed solution with more specificity.
Have you considered showing the arrows all the time? Might be a simpler/more discoverable interaction anyway...
Currently, they are easy to overshoot. When they disappear, the user needs to move back to the Detail Panel, then back to the arrows, and be careful not to overshoot again. Let's extend an invisible area around the arrows they people can safely overshoot into, without closing the hover-based navigation arrows.
