It'd be great to have automatic scripts for setting up dev environments for people that are not developers (or not back end developers) but need project access via git. It currently takes nearly an entire meet up to get someone setup and this is a bit crazy. For Apple users there is already https://github.com/18F/laptop which can be forked. Can we create a good Windows version of this, and potentially Linux as well? For Windows we should figure out what versions we need to support. Also we need a Windows expert to attempt to distill the best way to get rails working on Windows. I've attached the recommendations from my co-worker who develops with Rails on Windows as a potential guide. Please note that some of this differs from the recommendations on the Rails Install Guide.
