Sealing App: Translate content into Spanish #106

There are 3 known steps required:

  1. Translate the content from the sealing app into Spanish
  2. Research what we need to do with the existing sealing app to add the translations to the app
  3. Format that translations so that they can be used by docassemble.

BLOCKED - Better to refactor code first

@srsexton94 I made a copy of the expungement spreadsheet and removed all tabs except the Sealing App content. Think this should work for doing the translations like you did last time.

Steps to download an interview phrase translation file

  1. Log into playground
  2. Click on your username in the top right, and click on Utilities
  3. Scroll down to "interview phrase translation file"
  4. Enter the filename in the format docassemble.juvenilesealing:data/questions/sealing-body.yml
  5. Enter in the language you want to download in, e.g., es

Next step will be to have the translations reviewed by a second party

Follow up with GBLS/CfJJ about translations. Suspect this will be easier to move on come January. End of year not a great time to be fitting in budget items.

  1. Make sure the translations are still properly lined up in the spreadsheet
  2. Professional sign off
  3. Final plug and check of the functionality

What Languages?

The Process

Might be able to keep the previous translation if we are just moving around the previous content.

Re-arrange the words could be easier

Worth asking if that’s a reasonable way to go about it

Take into consideration the depth of the change. Re-arranging could be done in house.

Establish some level of stability.
