Thanks again for bringing this up - fixed.
If interested: it was an issue of aspect ratio only when the theme was using the files as featured images (wanted it 1:1). The Projects page was in an intermediate format earlier. and we weren't intending to have the images displayed as such on the page. For now, we don't have these featured images used directly by the theme, so it may not be a real issue, but they're often useful.
However, the SEO plugin was showing the (mobile only) Google search preview had that truncated effect happening again. So I altered the files' aspect ratios and re-uploaded, and it's all good now:
