Unable to login to Pub400 #64

Getting an error - ECONNREFUSED while trying to connect to PUB400 on trial mode. Error: Oops! It looks like some of those details were incorrect. (ECONNREFUSED) 57_2020-06-14_02 23 15AM

System: Windows 10

This usually does indicate that the connection details (user/pass) were wrong. They also need to have the SSH Daemon started on that box. I am not sure of the specific setup.

connorholyday commented 4 years ago

I think pub400 has changed their SSH port, we can add the ability to specify the port

connorholyday commented 4 years ago

Hey @AbrahamReuben we've released 0.5.2 which now has the option of setting a port. Once updated you'll be able to set the port to 2222 if connecting to pub400

Let us know if that's all fixed and working 👍

msavelli commented 4 years ago

I am getting the same error attempting a login to pub400. I am setting the host to pub400.com, the port to 2222 and using the same login credentials as I use in the Mocha TN5250 emulator. Any other thoughts?

connorholyday commented 4 years ago

@msavelli can you confirm which version you are running?

We'll look into this and see about getting a fix out pretty soon

msavelli commented 4 years ago

Yes, I'm attempting to trial ILEditor2. I have seen the below pasted tip, but unable to try because I don't see the left nav icons and the settings icon is disabled. Thank you so much for the follow-up.

Hello @connorholyday

Thank you for looking into my issue.

I tried going with a fresh install of ILEditor by downloading the installer from your website. Could note that the installer is 'ILEditor.2.Setup.0.5.1.exe' while I was expecting a 0.5.2.exe (File version is still 0.5.1). However few mins after install, the program automatically updated to version 0.5.2. So, all good there. Just wanted to point out the it would be nice to have a fixed version or no versioning in the installer name, if the app automatically takes care of updating to the latest available version. Also, it would be nice to have an Help > About menu that displays the version/details of the program (just a suggestion :) ).

Now, after the install, ILEditor opens up with a pre-populated Key (I'm guessing this might be from my previous install. I tried uninstalling the application and running it again, but am always getting a pre-populated Key), which then fails with the error - Key is incorrect and Key has expired. Requesting for trial and/or clicking on the Start button is still giving me the same error.

My hunch is that since I installed it earlier (but was not able to connect), the trial is expired or something. Is there any way to get it working again?

Thanks

@AbrahamReuben we hear you, that help menu is in the works! We're prioritising bug fixes at the moment but you can definitely expect that to make an appearance at some point :)

Yes it sounds like you might be on the right track with your hunch. What we can do is if both you and @msavelli send us an email over at support@ileditor.dev then we can refresh your trial periods once we've pushed out a fix to this issue.

This has also raised a good point that we should update the messaging around keys on the app to make it a bit friendlier and give you some more information on what to do next

AbrahamReuben commented 4 years ago

Thanks @connorholyday. I've sent in an email requesting for extension.

msavelli commented 4 years ago

Thanks @connorholyday. I've also sent in an email requesting an extension.

msavelli commented 4 years ago

Considering this issue is being closed, should I not expect to be receiving any further assistance including a trial key?

connorholyday commented 4 years ago

I think this one might have been closed by mistake, both yourself and Abraham will be getting new trials and the pub400 work is coming up next on the list :)

connorholyday commented 4 years ago

We've got connecting to pub400 all fixed up and ready for the next release

msavelli commented 4 years ago

Thank you. Looking forward to it. Have a nice weekend.

Please try this again - there is also a quick shortcut for it. We will close unless any further problems arise.
