I just threw the two datasets (schools and district boundaries) into MapBox Studio (https://www.mapbox.com/mapbox-studio) and uploaded it to my personal account for display purposes only. This is just for anyone who wants to see the data...

Did you have to do any data translation? Or were you able to just upload the base data sets from data.okc.gov?

You have to convert the KMZ -> KML

If you throw the KMZ into Google Earth, right click the layer on the left column and select "Save Place As..." (Attached Screenshot)
You can then select file type to KML

Once that is done, you will be able to add the layer into MapBox studio.
