The task: Download, consolidate and explore San Jose's building permit data. Find some interesting stories in the data and create a visualization to tell that story.

The data: The City of San Jose releases a weekly and monthly list of all building permits in a tab-delimited text file: https://www.sjpermits.org/permits/general/reportdata.asp

A few of permits: Seattle in Progress SF in Progress Teardown Tattler would make a Neighborland page to save a building automatically if it was over certain age old and a destruction permit came up. Code for Boulder just started something too
