SJSU Bluelight Campus Security System Update #47

Problem: Blue light security system towers are obsolete and are in desperate need of an upgrade. More information about blue lights - http://www.sjsu.edu/police/crime_reporting/bluelight/index.html

Solution: Software - an app that provides map / GPS data of "crime hotspots", notifies user when they are approaching hotspot zone. App also contains data about crime and other security features (ie direct line to campus pd, etc.) Hardware - wearable technology for students that, when activated through some specific action (motion, gestures, voice, etc) will automatically alert campus pd of student's location and will signal a distress signal of some sort.

Do you know if there currently has data about crime areas, for example the App can alert students to avoid certain areas at night classes...etc.

As of right now, no they do not have that kind of information.
