I checked that it builds and pics show up nicely. There's some weird stuff going on (propably mac thing): my picture paths get this ‎‎'''{figure} img/ [U+200E] Jupyter_Pandas_demo.png character is VSCode that maybe should not be there. So a good idea to check whether that messes up something.
