Replace ugettext with gettext #219

ugettext will be removed in Django 4.0

Really looking forward for this change to be merged. However this means that support for Django 1.x needs to be removed. So the readme has to be updated accordingly.

Newer PR with Django 4 compatibility has backwards compatible fix for this so closing this PR.
