We all ping each other on Slack because it is the easiest thing to do when we need help. We are in the middle of something and would like an extra hand to fix the problem we are dealing with.
Unfortunately this is resulting in us all having interruptions when we are in the middle of working. We could all just say to hell with interruptions and turn of slack when we are working but I don't think that is ideal solution.
I think a better solution is to schedule our interruptions so everyone gets the help they need and no one gets interrupted when in the middle of something else. So my proposal is that we each have "office hours" where we are responsible and available to help others.
If something is urgent then it can still be elevated.
