Hi thanks for the heads up. disclaimer: Im more into software than into hardware. How would changing the codec make a difference? The understanding i have about codecs, is that they are a method of transportation. I don't really see how changing the codec would make a difference (maybe in soundquality?)
Btw. do you have any idea what DIF1 & DIF0 are?
and VCC means Positive supply voltage right?
Regarding the Block Diagram on the Service Manual, the codec seems to use I²S protocol (IIS) When you look at the service manual, DIF1 & DIF0 are set to VCC (1). In the AK4517B datasheet (page 15) it correspond to mode 3 (24 Bit, IIS). It seems to be possible to change some parameters (eg filters,attenuation etc.. ) , but i still dont understand every details.
I think too, that we could change the codec for another one (maybe with a minishark (~ 190$ ))
