The tarballs on the CODES website have an outdated version of dragonfly/torus models. We need to do a new CODES release after the torus model updates are complete.

The network model part is ready for CODES release 0.5.0 (both documentation and code repository updated with recent changes). Here is a list of changes in the network models for this release:

• Torus/dragonfly model memory consumption reduced
• MPI Simulation layer has been updated to get rid of memory leaks caused by the workloads API. Some of the memory leaks were caused by the linked lists that were handling the matching of sends with receives so that has been replaced with a qlist instead.
• Features added to the network models: --> Improved congestion control in torus (improved the credit based flow control to issue credits at the right time and handle pending messages). --> Bubble VC to avoid deadlock prevention --> Both torus/dragonfly models report more detailed network statistics like link traffic, busy times, number of hops traversed by each network node, packet latency. For the dragonfly, router link traffic and busy times are also being reported.
  --> Virtual channel flow control in dragonfly routers (Same as used by Kim, Dally and other in technology driven dragonfly paper from 2008). --> Adaptive and progressive adaptive routings with dragonfly. Bugs with randomized non-minimal routing have been fixed (previously, it was missing one hop in its routing path). --> Non-minimal and adaptive routings in dragonfly can cause out of order flits. This has been fixed by keeping a hash table entry for each message and counting the number of packets that have arrived so far. --> More detailed documentation available on the network models and how to run them with DUMPI traces.
