Easy setup on other distributions #57

It would be nice to have an easier setup for other Distributions as well. Also maybe adding deb/rpm-packages to the releases or repositories like a PPA would be wonderful.

It would be nice, but the focus of development is Manjaro, is up to distro makers to do their own distribution packages.

Ah — what a pity. So folks using other distributions won't be able to use it at the moment in that case.

Maybe one day someone with expertise will be able to solve this issue then.

I might do a snap or something similar in the future, not right now, it is possible to use it in other distributions, but you have to manually install it or build your own package I dont support that.

Is not a question of expertise but free time to test and patch in case something is not working, too many different distros and some things might work differently.

I absolutely understand that someone might have a life outside OSS maintenance as well :wink: and I also agree that a snap might be the best solution. :+1: I just mentioned the expertise because I don't have any "package" expertise and maybe at some point someone who has it will fix this issue. :wink:

With the new port we have features that only work in manjaro, however I am leaving this issue open.
