For now I added the users manually with list mail delivery disabled, but that is cumbersome, especially because of the user settings bug in postorious (see https://gitlab.com/mailman/postorius/issues/193)

I haven't checked recently. The problem is, that new users with sudo right create mails via etckeeper which then land in moderation. Now that the user setting bug is fixed, this should be easier to fix. In older mailman versions one could just allow anyone to post, that was the * I was referring to.
