Flint and tinder is a great tool, but has very low durability. I suggest either a configurable durability or make tiers from it by adding bone/iron shards instead/along of rock. Some modpacks push flint and steel very late (to the... :drum: steel age) and flint and tinder would be a very nice replacement.

Durability, as well as time required to start a fire, can be configured for both the flint & tinder and the bow drill in the ignition.cfg module
