Ideas:

web development is complicated, yet outside observers think it's easy and dragon-drop (no code, anyone?)
No one thanks the electrician on good wiring, or the plumber on good plumbing (well, maybe they do on Thanksgiving or large get-togethers)
When complex systems work, we take them for granted... lots of people in the background that keep the engine oiled
