This will be an introductory session on the different sequence "types". The target audience are modellers who may not be that well versed in the biochemistry of DNA or how information content differs along a DNA sequence.
We will go over very basic biochemistry concerning DNA replication, the different classes of mutation, and permutation based encodings.
We will also go over very basic descriptions of homology, orthology, paralogy, etc...
This background will then be related to experimental design issues. For example, paired design potential for exons/introns.
Also want to introduce reproducible computation -- scitrack -- somewhere.
