Core AppChooser issues: reloading, no error state, escape to clear, symbols should be above files #882

Describe the bug

after opening a directory, the files in the directory are not shown -- need to reload -- in general after each action, it could auto-reload?
using camel case initialisms etc the string is often invalid -- turn off validation
hitting esc should always clear any existing text -- shouldn't have to use multiple keystrokes to do this
symbols should show up above files.

directory update was easy, just add ac.CallItemsFuncs() // refresh avail files
added ClearError, ClearText api to Chooser, do it on Esc -- works great.
not sure about symbols above files -- files generally smaller number?
