And whichever song you choose, it always start playing the very first song of
the playlist

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
The latest one on found on this site, I have a desire with 2.2

Please provide any additional information below.
I do have a MAC that runs on tiger 10.4.11

Are you running iTunes? When you said 59:59 you weren't clear about which
server you are connecting to? I test against MonkeyTunes and iTunes and have
not seen the 59:59 problem.

I test against Itunes so that makes me think for some reason your MP3 is
reporting its length as 59:59 like a bad tag or something?

Do you have an example of 1 MP3 you are using you could post somewhere?

I don't think it's my file/computer?
Just to show, I took a photo by using an album as a new playlist

IMG2549 is what you see if you go under Artist, find the artist, then display
the album.
IMG2547 is the result on the playlist. Same album, same Artist, and what's
funny, no matter which one you click, it would always start the first one lol

BTW, this happens to every playlist, include my PodCasts and what not.

Thanks for the fast reply

I see this too and think I already have some work in progress code to fix it
up. I'll look at what I did and try to resolve this issue.

A couple things a noticed the other night:

Sometimes, what u see on the playlist is not what u get,
When u browse by artist, then by album, what the remote would do
is grab the album and turns into a new playlist on iTunes, but despite the
order you see on the menu
(Which is the track number if u tagged it right, it will be a weird order)
And when u try the song you see on the phone, chances are it's not.the order u
see on the phone

Another thing I think can be improved is that when show the currently playing
song,
If you press the back button on the phone, it jumps back to phone desktop,
Could this button be server as a menu button just like iPod?

OK I use MonkeyTunes and not iTunes and was not able to reproduce the 59:59
issue but I was able to fix the selected item in the playlist is set to play
rather than always the first item.
Fixed in changeset 36:

I can reproduce the issue. What tool is best to see traffic coming from iTunes?

Original comment by Abstrakt...@gmail.com on 3 Dec 2010 at 5:22

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
Well I think an easier way to debug it is to debug in Android TunesRemote and
watch the incoming traffic and see why it is defaulting to 59.59.

I haven't had a chance to revisit this but will hopefully be able to soon. If
I remember coorectly, the playlist isn't getting the song lengths from iTunes
so we should be hiding it when it's not available rather than defaulting to
59:59.

released on the Market.
